Daycare Humor: A Day in the Life of a Teacher

What Is It like Working at a Daycare?

There’s a lot of words that come to mind when describing your typical day at a childcare center: busy, fun, loud, challenging, emotional, inspiring.

Every day you try the limits of your patience, compassion and attention to detail. It is a job that requires all of you: body, mind and soul.

There’s also a lot of work at a childcare center that can be difficult. Between the day-to-day of running a classroom, managing expectations of families, and filling out paperwork and documentation it certainly is a packed schedule!

But you get to make a difference in children’s lives each and every day and that’s why we love what we do. Through play, instruction and observation we can help guide a child’s development in their most vulnerable years to grow into curious, kind and conscientious adults!

If you are an educator that is struggling to get everything done in a day – we get you! That’s why we created HiMama – to make it a little easier for teachers and directors to manage their center effectively and cut back on time spent doing tedious paperwork. Learn more about our daycare software and find out if we can make your day a little bit easier.

I love the hi mama app it has made it so much easier to share my students daily school life with their parents whom are so very busy. Now my parents can see what their children did and who they play with when they have the time to fully enjoy it, not in a five- ten rush at the end of the day.

The article says a Day in the Life of a Teacher? Are you referring to a licensed teacher under the law in Ontario or a Daycare worker? Please do not confuse the two, as a licensed teacher has a minimum of 6 years of university and has passed a licensing exam.

I have been working in daycare centers for about 10 years now and now I want to start my own daycare. But I don’t know where to start all I need is for someone to point me in the right direction. So I can make my dream come true. I already have the name pick out. I’m naming it after my sister best friend who die of breast cancer, it’s call Angela’s Angel’s learning Academy. I’m hoping HiMama can give me some advice or where to start. Thank you

    • Hi, If you can find a daycare that is for sale its the easiest way to open a centre. But you’ll need loads of good marketing and word of mouth is the best thing ever!!! Find what is unique in your centre and show that to the families. I hope this little info helps. We are only 2 years in the business and have learnt everything the hard way!
